	Say number one was for the money: A 12 song demo cut long before we'd even done a paying gig, in hopes the songs would get us attention. With the help of some friends' records, they did. Which kicked us out onto the road (where we stayed), and somewhere between the gigs we cut number two, for the show, and graduated from clubs to concerts. We didn't hit anything like a groove in the studio until the middle of Border Lord, and it started feeling good. So number three got us ready to go on the fourth, and in between them we started working with Rita (and Mike Utley), which opened new roads.
