Paul Curry gives "This Old Road" three-and-a-half stars in today's Louisville Courier Journal. In a review titled "Old Warrior Strikes Another Blow," Curry writes that Kris "has stripped away the quirky poetic artifice that has rendered him something of a novelty and created what may be the most concise artistic statement of his career."
Curry later adds, "This arrangement works gloriously in spite of Kristofferson's notorious vocal shortcomings. The record offers a perfectly balanced portrait of modesty and ambition."

UPDATE:
The Myspace account has been deleted. No word on why, but the site went down within a day after New West sent out an e-mail promoting it.You can be friends with Kris Kristofferson! All you have to do is sign up for Myspace, visit
Kris' new profile and add him as your friend. And, even though Kris probably has nothing to do with this profile whatsoever, it was created by New West Records and features four songs you can listen to from the new CD: This Old Road, Pilgrim's Progress, In the News and Chase the Feeling.

New West records now has an e-card you can send to promote This Old Road. The card features blurbs from a few new reviews, including a Rolling Stone one that gives the CD three and a half stars and calls it one of Kris' finest albums. It also lets you listen to two songs - This Old Road and Pilgrim's Progress.
