If you're a complete stranger, you may be wondering what exactly all this Book of LOAF business is. Here's the short version (a more thorough history may be made available in the future):
The Book of LOAF was originally created by ChrisReid. Chris came up with the idea of making a massive collection of quotes made by Ben "BanditLOAF" Lesnick. They mostly come from various channels on IRC (particularly #wing-commander and #wingnut) but a minor fraction of the quotes come from other sources. Along with the original Book, Chris also created a mIRC script so that a visitor to the channel could type the magic trigger !LOAF and be rewarded immediately with a random quote from The Book.
With the assistance of Mike "Trelane" Gallagher, LOAFScript was created. Features were gradually added. Searching capabilities allowed users to finally look for a desired topic of quotation instead of the randomness that polluted The Book previously. Eventually, Trelane took over the management of The Book entirely and he is now in charge of both Book and LOAFScript updates.
In May of 2003, Trelane thought Why haven't I created a website for The Book yet? This thought, along with the recent acquisition of hamtwoslices.net by Baron LOAF himself, eventually led to a short period of sleep deprivation to Trelane and, later, this website that you're currently reading. Enjoy it, this is our gift to you.
If none of this makes any sense, or if you think we're completely insane: the joke is on you.
SubLOAF Trelane is the creator of this web site and the interface to The Book of LOAF. He is the highest ranking officer in the Engineering Branch of LOAF's Merry Guild and is currently studying Gameboy Advance and Television at the the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
